Itchy

Wow, it has really been a while since I've blogged. But anyway, right now I have a bad headache... and I'm just so moody. =( So last night I went to sleep around 12:20ish. I fell asleep around 12:40ish. Then around 1am, I woke up and I had the worst itch ever. It was all over my neck, scalp, some on my face and upper torso. It was like a burning itch and omg. I do not know how to even start describing it. Basically, it was THE WORST ITCH I'VE EVER HAD... I took some of anti-histamine that my doctor prescribed me. Then I put on as much lotion as possible all over my body. Those two things usually work (on small scale itches) but even after an hour, my itch did not go away.

It got to a point I had to wake my mom and dad up. I told them my problem and she took out my 2.5%hydro-cortisone cream and helped me put it all over the place that was itchy. Then she got me ice-packs and I just sat there with the ice-pack on my bare skin for about an hour. I started getting sleepy and the itch was residing so I decided to go to sleep.

I don't know WHAT IT WAS, but it was really itchy. =( I mean can you imagine? Your body is so itchy to the point to have to wake up! It felt like a million fire ants biting me and my skin was like burning with itches. When I looked in the mirror...omg.. my skin was actually all red, bumpy and it felt really warm. =( My mom called it "FongMok" (in cantonese) I don't know what that is and she didn't know how to explain it. She said I was probably too stressed out or had like an after-reaction from the fever I had 2 days ago. @_@

I woke up late this morning and I had a really bad headache. =( I still have it. And I'm still not in a good mood. I was planning on going home and taking a nap and then doing my homework, but I realized that I have SAT class after school today. Awesome timing =.=" wow...

Looking at the bright side. I got 10 out of 10 for Wong's test. Aced it. I'm running for President in CSF and I'm pretty sure I'll win because no one is running against me. =P

Then I bumped in to Ms. Blewitt when I was walking to the restroom today. She was like Hi! And I was like Oh! Hi! Ms. Blewitt! =) Then she goes on to ask me really quickly, "Do you know Erika Saracho?" And I was like "Uh huh *nods head*" Ms. Blewitt was like, "She got into HARVARD & YALE! See! You can do ANYTHING!" *fist bump* LOL

I don't know if that made me feel better or worse. Right now I feel like I can't get into any good colleges with my present grades. Plus I don't do any sports like she does. It's not that I don't try, but I can't play American sports. I'm learning but I'm not good enough to get on any team. =.=" But the confidence she had in me made me a bit happier and she's such an awesome teacher.... so yeah....

I don't have much to say anymore... I wish I could go home and rest. I don't feel like I can last until 5:15pm today sigh...and so much homework to do later. T___T headache... sigh....
Days like this I really dislike school and myself....

Sunday Skit

ACT No. 1

Mark 11

Jesus’ Triumphant Entry

1 As Jesus and his disciples approached Jerusalem, they came to the towns of Bethphage and Bethany on the Mount of Olives. Jesus sent two of the disciples on ahead. 2 “Go into that village over there,” he told them. “As soon as you enter it, you will see a young donkey tied there that no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here. 3 If anyone asks, ‘What are you doing?’ just say, ‘The Lord needs it and will return it soon.’”

4 The two disciples left and found the donkey standing in the street, tied outside the front door. 5 As they were untying it, some bystanders demanded, “What are you doing, untying that donkey?” 6 They said what Jesus had told them to say, and they were permitted to take it. 7 Then they brought the donkey to Jesus and threw their (disciple) garments over it, and he sat on it.

8 Many in the crowd spread their garments on the road ahead of him, and others spread leafy branches they had cut in the fields. 9 Jesus was in the center of the procession, and the people all around him were shouting,

“Praise God![a]
Blessings on the one who comes in the name of the Lord!
10 Blessings on the coming Kingdom of our ancestor David!
Praise God in highest heaven!”[b]

11 So Jesus came to Jerusalem and went into the Temple. After looking around carefully at everything, he left because it was late in the afternoon. Then he returned to Bethany with the twelve disciples.

Praise God in highest heaven!”[e]

10 The entire city of Jerusalem was in an uproar as he entered. “Who is this?” they asked.

11 And the crowds replied, “It’s Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee.”

Act No. 2

The Last Supper

17 On the first day of the Festival of Unleavened Bread, the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Where do you want us to prepare the Passover meal for you?”

18 “As you go into the city,” he told them, “you will see a certain man. Tell him, ‘The Teacher says: My time has come, and I will eat the Passover meal with my disciples at your house.’” 19 So the disciples did as Jesus told them and prepared the Passover meal there.

(Start acting here) 20 When it was evening, Jesus sat down at the table[c] with the twelve disciples.[d] 21 While they were eating, he said, “I tell you the truth, one of you will betray me.”

22 Greatly distressed, each one asked in turn, “Am I the one, Lord?”

23 He replied, “One of you who has just eaten from this bowl with me will betray me. 24 For the Son of Man must die, as the Scriptures declared long ago. But how terrible it will be for the one who betrays him. It would be far better for that man if he had never been born!”

25 Judas, the one who would betray him, also asked, “Rabbi, am I the one?”

And Jesus told him, “You have said it.”

26 As they were eating, Jesus took some bread and blessed it. Then he broke it in pieces and gave it to the disciples, saying, “Take this and eat it, for this is my body.”

27 And he took a cup of wine and gave thanks to God for it. He gave it to them and said, “Each of you drink from it, 28 for this is my blood, which confirms the covenant[e] between God and his people. It is poured out as a sacrifice to forgive the sins of many. 29 Mark my words—I will not drink wine again until the day I drink it new with you in my Father’s Kingdom.”

30 Then they sang a hymn and went out to the Mount of Olives

31 On the way, Jesus told them, “Tonight all of you will desert me. For the Scriptures say,

‘God will strike[f] the Shepherd,
and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’

32 But after I have been raised from the dead, I will go ahead of you to Galilee and meet you there.”

33 Peter declared, “Even if everyone else deserts you, I will never desert you.”

34 Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, Peter—this very night, before the rooster crows, you will deny three times that you even know me.”

35 “No!” Peter insisted. “Even if I have to die with you, I will never deny you!” And all the other disciples vowed the same.

Act No. 3

Jesus Prays in Gethsemane

36 Then Jesus went with them to the olive grove called Gethsemane, and he said, “Sit here while I go over there to pray.” 37 He took Peter and Zebedee’s two sons, James and John, and he became anguished and distressed. 38 He told them, “My soul is crushed with grief to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me.”

39 He went on a little farther and bowed with his face to the ground, praying, “My Father! If it is possible, let this cup of suffering be taken away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.”

40 Then he returned to the disciples and found them asleep. He said to Peter, “Couldn’t you watch with me even one hour? 41 Keep watch and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak!”

42 Then Jesus left them a second time and prayed, “My Father! If this cup cannot be taken away[g] unless I drink it, your will be done.” 43 When he returned to them again, he found them sleeping, for they couldn’t keep their eyes open.

44 So he went to pray a third time, saying the same things again. 45 Then he came to the disciples and said, “Go ahead and sleep. Have your rest. But look—the time has come. The Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. 46 Up, let’s be going. Look, my betrayer is here!”

Jesus Is Betrayed and Arrested

47 And even as Jesus said this, Judas, one of the twelve disciples, arrived with temple guard armed with swords and clubs. They had been sent by the leading priests and elders of the people. 48 The traitor, Judas, had given them a prearranged signal: “You will know which one to arrest when I greet him with a kiss.” 49 So Judas came straight to Jesus. “Greetings, Rabbi!” he exclaimed and gave him the kiss.

50 Jesus said, “My friend, go ahead and do what you have come for.”

Then the others grabbed Jesus and arrested him. 51 But one of the men with Jesus pulled out his sword and struck the high priest’s slave, slashing off his ear.

52 “Put away your sword,” Jesus told him. “Those who use the sword will die by the sword. 53 Don’t you realize that I could ask my Father for thousands[h] of angels to protect us, and he would send them instantly? 54 But if I did, how would the Scriptures be fulfilled that describe what must happen now?”

ACT No. 4

22 And they brought Jesus to a place called Golgotha. 23 They offered him wine drugged with myrrh, but he refused it.

24 Then the soldiers nailed him to the cross. They divided his clothes and threw dice[c] to decide who would get each piece. 25 It was nine o’clock in the morning when they crucified him. 26 A sign was fastened to the cross, announcing the charge against him. It read, “The King of the Jews.” 27 Two revolutionaries[d] were crucified with him, one on his right and one on his left.[e]

31 The leading priests and teachers of religious law also mocked Jesus. “He saved others,” they scoffed, “but he can’t save himself! 32 Let this Messiah, this King of Israel, come down from the cross so we can see it and believe him!” Even the men who were crucified with Jesus ridiculed him.

The Death of Jesus

33 At noon, darkness fell across the whole land until three o’clock. 34 Then at three o’clock Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” which means “My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?”[f]

37 Then Jesus uttered another loud cry and breathed his last. 38 And the curtain in the sanctuary of the Temple was torn in two, from top to bottom.

39 When the soldier[g] who stood facing him[h] saw how he had died, he exclaimed, “This man truly was the Son of God!”

40 Some women were there, watching from a distance, including Mary Magdalene, Mary (the mother of James the younger and of Joseph[i]), and Salome.

The Burial of Jesus

42 This all happened on Friday, the day of preparation,[j] the day before the Sabbath. As evening approached, 43 Joseph of Arimathea took a risk and went to Pilate and asked for Jesus’ body.) so Pilate told Joseph he could have the body. 46 Joseph bought a long sheet of linen cloth. Then he took Jesus’ body down from the cross, wrapped it in the cloth, and laid it in a tomb that had been carved out of the rock. Then he rolled a stone in front of the entrance. 47 Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joseph saw where Jesus’ body was laid.

Act No. 5

The Resurrection

1 Early on Sunday morning,[a] as the new day was dawning, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went out to visit the tomb.

2 Suddenly there was a great earthquake! For an angel of the Lord came down from heaven, rolled aside the stone, and sat on it. 3 His face shone like lightning, and his clothing was as white as snow. 4 The guards shook with fear when they saw him, and they fell into a dead faint.

5 Then the angel spoke to the women. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I know you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. 6 He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead, just as he said would happen. Come, see where his body was lying. 7 And now, go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead, and he is going ahead of you to Galilee. You will see him there. Remember what I have told you.”

8 The women ran quickly from the tomb. They were very frightened but also filled with great joy, and they rushed to give the disciples the angel’s message. 9 And as they went, Jesus met them and greeted them. And they ran to him, grasped his feet, and worshiped him. 10 Then Jesus said to them, “Don’t be afraid! Go tell my brothers to leave for Galilee, and they will see me there.”

The Great Commission

16 Then the eleven disciples left for Galilee, going to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him—but some of them doubted!

18 Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. 19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations,[b] baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

Decathlon: Part 1

Okay, so I am done with 3 subjects: speech, interviews & essay! YAY!

I don't have much to say about them, but overall I think the team did well.
Everyone made time and we all liked our essay topics.

For me:
  • Speech - Okay, it was not my best >.<
  • Interview - Awweeesomee
  • Essay - I loved it! haha
I think overall I did all right. =) I'm pretty happy about it and I'm glad that we've done 3 and only 7 more to go.

Oh yes, and yesterday, our administrator for Decathlon - My Trotters came in during our 6th period and told us...that he had set up a pep rally for us.

We laughed. LOL

We never expected anything. I mean, pep rallies are usually for football jocks. Even the basketball and volleyball teams don't get one. I was like WOW. I don't even watch the pep rallies. LOL. Ironic!!!!

Anyway, during lunch today, we went down to the grassy flag pole area. The cheerleaders were all ready and started cheering and stuff. Then they had an "L" formation. (L for Lincoln!!!) They called out our names and we had to run through their L formation.

When I ran through it, it was pretty scary. There were all these people I didn't know and they had their pom-poms in my face. >.< Then some random girl was put a necklace candy around me. Then I walked out of the formation. I was like clueless on where to walk to so I just walked back to where I was originally standing. LOL

Anyway, we're special! Pep rally for nerds! xD Nice... haha I hope this gets more people to join Acadeca. =) We need more team member for next year's team.

And part 2 of decathlon is this week! We're going to be testing on the 7 other subjects and doing relay! I'm excited for the relay!

Dear Adrian,

That's my poem that you posted. LOL
Remember my old blog?
You were reading it and you liked the poem I wrote so much
that you asked me if you could save it.
Why don't you remember it was my poem?!!
LOL
That's kinda heart-breaking....JK~
*CRIES*
I think....
idk actually...

BUT YES..
that is my poem Adrian...
go to my old blog and look it up..
it is there..
;P
At least put my name there.. rofl...
When I wrote that poem,
I was putting so much of myself into it.
So yeah...
just so you knooooww~
And didn't you save a few of my poems?
How many more of my poems do you have?
hahaha...

Competition Tmr

Yes, the day has come!
All that studying, complaining, preparation, meetings, after-school sessions... the day has now come!!!
AHHH...

Anyway, tomorrow is my Interview & Interview/Impromptu & Essay competition.
Next Saturday, is when I take my other 7 subjects.

Today, Ms. Crabtree made an announcement about our competitio. She said our names and everything. lol... Then during our 4th period, she came in to give us these encouragement cards. It was really cute. =) And definitely encouraging. xD

I'm looking forward to it. So, I'm kinda excited, nervous and scared. I feel like I will do well, but the thought of messing up scares me too >.<

Anyway, I wish myself and all my team mates the best! JIA YOU!
Lets go win some medals.. and possibly... money.. LOL

Rainy Day

Okay, so it's raining really hard today. So, obviously, its really cold, wet and windy. I'm wearing my AcaDeca jacket because it is so thick and warm <3 I love it. =D

I'm glad it rained because I miss the rain, but what I don't like is that it is cold. Whenever it rains in Malaysia, it is refreshing not cold. Malaysia is a hot tropical country, so whenever the rain comes we're really happy because it cools everything down. =)

Here, on the other hand, you catch colds and get pneumonia. Aiya. I am sneezing and my nose is runny. It is so annoying. arghhh....

I just want to go home, stay in bed and sleeeeeeep. Weather like these just make you wanna hug someone and snuggle up. =3

You know what makes me laugh? - How Americans freak out when it rains. LMAO
Right now in my class, people are like freaking out that it is raining. I find it funny, but we can't blame them. It rarely rains here in California. lol Whereas, in Malaysia it rains almost everyday. =D

Funny....

Being Zen~

I wanted to name this post "Random Stuff" again... but then I was like... "How boring!" So I thoughts I wanted to name it something different but keep the meaning. Thus, I came up with the word "ZEN!" Yay~~

Anyway, school has started... but I don't feel ready to go back right now... =( I just wanna go home and sleep or something... bleh

Oh yeah, I got a hair cut on Sunday and I really like it. xD But I want the back to be shorter, yup... but oh well.. its good. Jerry really did recommend a really good hairstylist... I have to thank him on Friday =)

I'm so sleeeeeeeeepiieee >=(

Sigh.... I can't wait for Martin Luther King Jr. Day... we get a day off! YESSSS more sleep!!!~~~

I want to listen to music... but my ipod is dead.. and Chiara has my earphones and I forgot to bring my USB... =.="

Man, I'm seriously sleepy... gona stop writing this random post with basically nothing in it...

FCBC Winter Retreat: Extreme Makeover

On the second last Sunday night of 2009, I was talking to Sammy online. We were talking about how we finally got to meet up with each other after not seeing each other for 2 months! He was busy with work and family; I had school and school... LOL

We had a Christmas dinner with Fongyi's and Small Group. =) It was great. I just love being with them all. I felt like I was part of that family.

Anyway, back to our conversation. Sammy told me about how he wouldn't be at Fongyi's the following Friday. I was disappointed because I wouldn't get to see him till the week after. It happened that he was going to his church's youth group's retreat - FCBC-YF. A lot of my friends go to YF, most of the basketball players at least. LOL

So I told him I was pretty sad I wouldn't get to see him. I wouldn't get my guitar lessons from him! Then out of the blue, he asked me if I would like to go. I was like REALLY?! I can go? Are you sure? And he was so confident about it and said yes. I was pretty excited. He told me that my neighbors (Vicky & Becky) were going too. =) I asked my parents the very next day if I could go. They were not hesitant at all. They just said yes. xD I was so happy.

Also, I wanted to bring my brother along, but my dad told me to bring my sister instead. She's never been to any camp/ retreat. My brother has. So, he said to give my sister a chance. I'd be able to take care of her too. haha. I didn't mind who'd go with me. I won't bring two though. I don't think I can handle and take care of them both. So one at a time!

My packing was so last minute. LOL. I did everything at night and in the morning. But it was all cool~ I brought everything I need. ;P

Day 1 - Uncle James picked us up around 9:30 am and drove us to church. I was so excited. I walked around the gym and outside the gym, then to Water Plus, then back to church and waited for Sammy outside. While I was waiting, I saw other people there that I knew or have seen around before. Daisy, Amy, Zi, Quan, Yvonne, Jennifer, Jack, Alex... There was a lot of people... There's more, but I don't remember them all. HAHA And OF COURSE~ I met a lot of new people.

We left church around 11am after a devotion. I was in a van with Audrey, Sammy,Vicky, Becky, Julie, Jenny, Danny and Peter. We stopped by the Figueroa McDonald's for lunch. Yum~ I had to fight with Audrey for the ice-cream I bought her. LOL It's okay~ We're cool~

The ride was pretty short. Not that bad. Only about 90minutes. We arrived at Frazier Park Camp AREV around like, 4pm.

You know what? I'm just going to put down our schedule. Way easier! LOL

Ummm... I'll talk about the few best parts of camp =)
The count down was awesome. It was my first time celebrating it away from home though. I was with my sister and friends so it was all cool ^_^ I was playing bananagrams with Vicky, Becky and Sammy right before the count down. When the countdown started, you could see everyone stop what they were doing and started counting down. LOL

Playing in the snow was enjoyable to me because my sister was having fun after keeping to herself so much. I guess she wasn't used to the environment and people. When I saw her make her snowman with Cheryl I was so glad she was having fun =) I threw snowballs at people... specifically Sammy, Alex and Amy. LOL Sammy was funny to look at. His lips were pink (I'm jealous). So were his ears and cheeks. HAHAHA It was like so cold when I touched his ears LMAO and he was all like "OOooo so warm!!" LOL Alex was even nicer, he didnt have gloves, so he was freezing his hands off. He did the smartest thing and stuck his freezing arms into the back of Sammy's shirt! LOL Sammy's expression was priceless! LOL

During the second day's cabin sharing, Aunty Penny (the person in charge of our cabin) said something that just caught my attention. Amy asked the question, "What if I'm really successful and God tells me to go to some place in Africa or something?" She said it in a really "I don't want to do something like that tone." Aunty Penny gave a really good answer she said, "Don't you trust God to tell you to do something that you will enjoy? Why would your father who loves you give you something you don't like?" I thought about that, and it is so true. lol

Free-time during my third day was awesome. Sammy wanted to make his "cross necklace." He found sticks and I was about to put it together. BUT OMG~ Just when I was like done, he changes his mind and wants to make a lanyard~ After forever, well actually more when it was finally 4pm, he was done and happy with his cross lanyard. Then we walked around the cabin area like more than 10 times. We had a really good conversation about like EVERYTHING LOL. Yup~

Testimonies were a long long long time. Yes all the way till 2am. My sister was tired so I got her to go to bed early. I sat there with Sammy and I listened to all those testimonies. It was really good. My butt actually started to hurt for sitting in one spot for so long. LOL Sammy kept telling me to go up say something, but I had nothing to say so.. oh well. lol He went up though, it was really inspiring, he always is. ^_^ I was listening to the last testimony when I God started talking to me. Yeah yeah, I sound crazy, but I don't care what people think. It was the most amazing thing during the whole retreat.

The last day there wasn't much to do. So yeah, that's all I'm going to talk about. =D
I might edit if I have more to say. =)
Thank you Sammy! ^_^

2009-2010

Well, everyone was reflecting on 2009. I didn't get a chance to because I was out of town on the last day of 2009. I went to a Church Winter Retreat. I have to say that was one of the best experiences of my 2009. I ended 2009 with God and started 2010 with Him.

(I think I will not blog about my Big Bear trip. I'd rather blog about this retreat.)

Well first a reflection on 2009. I have to say it was a good year. There was ups and downs, but the UPs would overshadow the downs. =) I started out 2009 by going to Big Bear with my family. I was really nice. It was my first "official" time seeing snow. Apparently, I saw snow as a baby, but as we all know IT DOESN'T COUNT! xD

Anyway, that was about the time I started to get to know Adrian! ^_^ Yes, Adrian, it was pretty weird how we started talking. *cough*cough* ;P You started out sooo quiet. SO QUIET. But you're like so random too now. haha. Talking, chatting, texting... bleh... everything.. ROFL... with you was fun. We talked about everything~ Fuunnaayy =3 I like your most overly used IM facial expression. I'm glad I could be a part of your 2009 that made it great. You were a part of my 2009 that made it awesome too. =) I like how you listen to my AP Bio jokes. I'm so lame. Most people (outside of AP Bio) wouldn't get it. hahaha.

Which leads me to the AP Bio exam. I got a SHOCKING 5! That's the highest grade you can get on the AP exams. I couldn't believe it. Wow, I shocked myself. I did work very hard and that reward paid off. =) I'm so proud of it. Yes, and it makes me want to work harder to get more 5s!

Summer was really quiet. I went to summer school. I had Christiano for health and Viramontes for life skills. That was a facepalm summer. But its okay, I got through it! I finished those requirements! YAY!

The best thing about summer was getting an opportunity to learn how to play the guitar. I can't thank Sammy enough for teaching me. I feel so passionate when I play the guitar, like I can never get tired of it. Even though it hurts my fingers so much. LOL Well, its okay, it doesn't hurt anymore. I have callous on the tips of my fingers now. hahaha. I feel like guitar is my second chance. It's to make up for dropping piano. I've been playing for a little over 4 months now. And I am proud to say Sammy is a great teacher because I now lead for some worship session in church. =)

Then school started. It was awesome. I got all the classes I wanted. It was really busy and hectic. It still is and will be. Lol. I have Academic Decathlon and I have a love-hate relationship with it. HAHA. But anyway, everything has been going well.

Then I went to Big Bear again. Second time. This time was awesome. It actually snowed when my family was up there. It was amazing. haha.

Finally, I concluded my year with the Church Winter Retreat that Sammy invited me too. =) I have so much to say about it. So, I shall make it a separate post. hahaha.

Anyway,
Happy 2010 everyone.
I hope everyone will have an even better year. ^_^
