"Self-resilience is developed by facing one's failures and dissapointments for the sake of strengthening ones' inner resources, which includes the ability to tolerate frustration.
Self-resilience also includes accepting that one may have to disappoint others.
If failure and disappointment are evaded instead of being faced, then the same patterns of behavior will continue habitually instead of the steady growth which characterizes the "self-resilient" person who habitually and calmly faces his or her failures and disappointments (including disappointing others).
